My Favorite Sport

My favorite sport is riding a bike. When I was in the fourth grade, my father taught me how to ride a two-wheel bike. I was so excited to get on the two-wheel bike. During my learning process, I fell off the bike several times because I was not careful enough to look out for cars. However, that did not stop me. I never gave it up. Every time I fell off, I remembered where I have done wrong and told myself not to do it again. So I have learned from mistakes. The other reason I like riding a bike is I enjoy the sensation of speed.
There are some advantages of riding bikes. First, it can reduce air pollution and noise. Driving cars or riding motorcycles discharge lots of carbon dioxide that will make our climate get warmer. It will affect the organisms on Earth and endanger people as well. Riding a bike is a good way to save the world from global warming. Second, it can reduce serious car accidents. We can see car accidents every day; obviously, it must be a serious one that we notice it. Although riding a bike cannot be as fast as driving a car or riding a motorcycle, it is a safe way to commute.
If you are planning to use bikes as the main transportation, you really need to watch out for the cars and motorcycles. It is quite dangerous due to the bad traffic and driving culture in Taiwan. Also, you should get some necessary gears when you ride in the dark. In the night, bikers cannot be seen easily without appropriate neon jackets and lights. Besides that, riding a bike is a good leisure activity.
I like to ride a bike every day because I take it as an exercise which could make my legs stronger. I also think riding a bike can promote interpersonal relationships between friends. My friends and I have a common interest to talk about, and we can share our own riding experiences, too. The only disadvantage I can think of is the accessories and the bikes itself are very expensive for me!
