MY TEACHER IN JUNIOR HIGH

It has been one year since I graduated from elementary school. Now, I am a junior high school student. In junior high, everything is different than before. The subjects are getting harder, the environment is larger, and what's more, our parents' expectation on our performances is rising. However, there is still one thing staying the same: every single class still has a “homeroom teacher”. I am so happy it still maintains in junior high, because it gave me a chance to meet my teacher, Tien Yen-Shih. He is the most special teacher I've ever met.

Mr. Tien is a math teacher. How special is he? I must say he is not only a physical but also a mental teacher of our class. He's capable of doing a lot of things, like drawing, singing, sports, and of course, he is good at math. And he always spends his private time on students' issues. For example, when we had a choir competition, he took his time to practice with us. One time, he even canceled his personal swimming class to solve some troubles made by students. He is always caring about us. And what's more, sometimes he would give us special treatments. He buys our class some food and drinks after our final examination as a reward for our hard work. Because of his kindness and thoughtful personality, most of his students still come back to visit him every year after graduation.

Although my class is 719, the freshman of the school, there are still many troubles caused by us. Like the students who are being late for school everyday on purpose, cheating on the examination, dozing in the class while teacher is teaching, he always has his own way to solve these problems. And these solutions not only work but are also interesting. For example, if students can't stop being late for school, he always asks them to ride brooms around the playing field; if students cheat on the test, he would let them go to every class to promote cheating is not necessary and is not allowed; if students doze during the class time while teacher is teaching, he would help them to wear helmets because he doesn't want us to wrench our necks and it can protect our heads. Before I met Mr. Tien, I never knew a teacher could be so interesting. Mr. Tien always has an open mind and positive attitude to the situations of our class. I never saw he frowned to our behaviors. It seems nothing could defeat him.

I believe you've already known how cool he is through my introductions and stories. Mr. Tien always takes care of every student and takes responsibilities of everything happening in class. The most important is he never cares about our exam scores being good or bad, because he always tells us, “I'm not worried about your scores, however, I'm only concerned about if you don't do your best in the process.” He makes us believe we must try our best no matter we'll win or lose. His words affect everybody in the class. Mr. Tien is not only our teacher but also our friend. He is a teacher you can trust and count on. He is the best teacher I've ever met.
