Christopher Columbus

In 1451, a navigator was born in Italy; his name was Christopher Columbus. Christopher was considered one of the most famous navigators in history. The King of Spain, Ferdinand, gave him the task to look for a new route to Asia. He became one of the navigators for Spain in 1492. This was his first time to navigate a ship. This voyage also made him famous throughout Europe and secured for him the title of Admiral and further royal titles.
Being a navigator wasn’t very easy at that time and a lot of navigators were died during their voyage. However, Columbus never gave up. He was more determined and courageous than any other explorer at that time. He believed that he would succeed and find the new route to Asia. Destiny doesn’t let down a man who does his best. Finally, in October 1922, he discovered two new lands, the Bahamas and Cuba. The findings led him to a reward from the King of Spain. Six years later, he navigated again. Although it was Columbus’ last trip, it was during this voyage that he discovered South America. Columbus passed away in 1506, but his adventurous stories live on with people forever.
Although I am just an ordinary student in junior high school, I am really interested in stories about adventures. Columbus lived an exciting and extraordinary life. I hope someday to explore new lands as Columbus did, and have a life as adventurous as his.
