Clean Up the Environment

Spend 5 minutes sorting the garbage and the recyclable every day. It is easy but it will definitely make a difference to the Earth and its future! There has been more and more news about global warming. Arctic ice is rapidly disappearing and the polar bears are already suffering from ice loss. If you haven’t heard about it, you must have noticed that summer in Taiwan is getting hotter and longer. All of these facts are warning us that we have done too much damage to the Earth. Not only have we polluted the environment and used up the resources; we have also created an amazing amount of garbage. The worst of all, there aren’t enough incinerators or landfill sites to take care of the garbage we continue to produce every day. It’s time for us to pause to think about how to help clean up the environment immediately. In my opinion, the easiest but most important one is recycling, and I am sure you are familiar with the concept. At least 40 percent of the garbage we produce should, be recycled. If all of us are willing to spend a little time to recycle instead of throwing everything into a big trash can, the situation will start to improve. Recycled garbage can be made into different products to be used again. It helps reduce the amount of garbage and saves resources. Many developed countries started taking action a long time ago. In Japan, everyone recycles, so there are at least four different kinds of garbage cans for each family. In the U.S., tissue paper can be flushed into the toilet and dissolved in the water. It helps reduce the amount of garbage. Look at all the global citizens around us, what are we waiting for? We must take actions right now! Spend 5 minutes sorting the garbage and the recyclable every day. It is easy but it will definitely make a difference to the Earth and its future! Recycling is not the only thing we can do to help the Earth. If we reduce the amount of carbon dioxide; if we use environmentally friendlier energy; if we are more appreciative and careful with the resources we have, it will slow down global warming and the damage we have done to mother nature. The point is, all of us have to believe and start doing everything we can to clean the environment, starting from this moment.
