I feel very lucky to be employed by Happy Marian. The curriculum, Happy Marian provides us with, is straight forward and directed. I enjoy this structure in my working environment.

The amount of playtime Happy Marian students are rewarded with is also essential for their conversation skills. If children are not given the opportunity to speak English with each other some of them will never improve on their pronunciation or their vocabulary. Encouraging them to speak only English means that even new students learn conversation skills really quickly in order to make friends and fit in.

I am happy I decided to come to Taiwan to teach English. It is a very beautiful country to live in. There are so many wonderful sights to see, my fiancee and I are always visiting new places.

The people in Taiwan also make this experience amazing. From ordering food to trying to direct a taxi driver, people are usually patient and helpful.

Working as a team with your Chinese teacher also makes life easier. Chinese co- teachers have always been helpful. When I started here, disciplining children so young was difficult for me. My co-teacher had this great system to help kids see why they were wrong and give them a choice and a chance to do right. I recently moved from J2 to J1, which was a huge change! I really had to depend on my co-teacher because my new students didn't understand a word I said! She has them following our routine, lining up, and paying attention to me. I really value the support I've been given here.

This has been a priceless experience for me. Teaching English to Taiwanese children is incredibly rewarding and I wouldn't trade this opportunity for anything.
